Plot twist: this is something you can do! In 2012, the state of Illinois passed a law named "Sip and Spit." This law allows culinary students under the age of 21 to legally state alcohol.

The catch is that you have to "sip and spit" the alcohol. This was enacted because culinary students needed to learn how to taste wine in their early years, and waiting until they're in their second to last semester of college isn't very helpful!
