Zoom Is Lifting 40-Minute Time Limit Over the Holidays

Planning to Zoom with family members over the holidays? There's no need to be concerned about the usual time limits.

As a token of appreciation to its users, Zoom is lifting the usual 40-minute limit on free video calls globally throughout the holidays. Unlimited meetings will be able to be held between Wednesday, December 23 and Saturday, December 26; as well as Wednesday, December 30 to Saturday, Jan 2 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 a.m.

You won't have to do anything to remove the limit, which will be automatically lifted during the above times.

Whether you're coming together on Christmas, celebrating the final days of Kwanzaa, or connecting with friends and family to ring in the New Year, your time won't be cut short.

Zoom has also ensured that your virtual get-together will be as safe and fun as possible. You can protect your session from uninvited guests by requiring a meeting passcode to join and enabling Waiting rooms. Users can even download festive virtual backgrounds and experiment with video filters.

Stay home and stay safe!
