For instance, it was rumored for a long time that he tried to buy the bones of “Elephant Man” Joseph Merrick. Tabloids called him “Wacko Jackson.”

The weirdest part was that the singer often leaked these stories about himself! He loved the limelight so much that he would happily be the one creating it. Eventually, he stopped leaking because the name "Wacko Jackson" really began to bother him. He did it to himself though...
