Though she goes by Cardi B professionally, the "Bodak Yellow" singer was born Belcalis Almanzar. "B" is short for Bacardi, like the brand of rum. Her sister's name is Hennessy, "so everyone used to call me Bacardi, and I started calling myself Bacardi, which eventually was shorted to Cardi B," she told Jimmy Fallon.
