Greece's Epidaurus Theatre to Live-Stream Ancient Play For the First Time Ever

The Persians, a drama by Aeschylus, will be live-streamed to a global audience on Saturday, July 25, from the Epidauras Theatre in Greece. This year's Athens and Epidaurus Festival will be supported by the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports, will present the play as a commemoration fo the 25th centenial of the Battle of Salamis.

The play will be streamed at 21.00 Athens time (GMT +2), in partnership with Google Greece. It will be available to watch worldwide through YouTube for free, but the theatre is accepting donations. All proceeds benefit Greek actors and theatres affected by COVID-19.

The play will be shown in Greek with English subtitles and is about 90 minutes long. It will be streamed through livefromepidaurus.gr and will also be availble at various websites associated with the festival as well as the National Theatre's YouTube channel.
